--CURRENTLY SEEKING MEMBERS--About the Team & Company:For many decades the community of monks now nown as the 'Mokusei Gautama' resided in the mountains, only descending to the small village below to earn a small living in their Teahouse and to give aid to the poor and in need.
When an adopted member of thiers - Okurina- decided that she would enter into the Samurai Dueller's Leauge, she welcomed other SDLers into the teahouse.
Soon, as she advertised for opponents, and as the Teahouse's grew busier with tehse new customers, the idea of a team was created that would center around the teahouse and the temple.
How the Team Works:The 'team' is divided into two loose sections - the private section and the competitive section.
The private section is the Teahouse and the Temple and operate as businesses, ahving little to do with fighting. However they wholeheartedly ofefr their support and act as a sanctury to anyone in need, especially its members.
The Competative section is coordinated by Okurina. This is where the SDL teamembers group together to form a unit to battle in group duels or to support one another in need and events.
The team welcomes SDLers of all types, provided they follow the team rules.
To join the Team Generally speaking, The Mokusei Gautama is more of a hangout than an offensive team of SDL warriors. However, those who come across the teahouse and stop to chat often find the friendly kindness and kinship there appealing - and it seems that Okurina is eager to recruit some SDL 'buddies' for the cause of good.
*To join, send dragontamer363 a comic (1 page is fine) of your OC staying at the tea house and asking to join the team. This will act as an 'audition'.
[+ a link to your oc profile]
When there are more members, all members will decide whetehr you are accepted.
*Your OC must either be a Buddhist, or be sympathetic/tolerant of that religion's beliefs.
The Mokusei Guatama try to do good.
This is epitomised in the team motto of following the Eightfold path.
Teamembers must respect these rules in principle, even if they don't in practice...1)
Right view - all life is subject to suffering and is non-permanent. Greed and selfishness, pride and arrogance are all negative.
2)
Right intention - we must try to become better people. To be non-violent (ie not to kill people), to be kind and help those in need for the force of good.
3)
Right speech - not to lie in malicious intent
4)
Right effort - to become better Samurai, and to fight for Good causes, and protect the weak.
5)
Right livelihood - to not be greedy and corrupt. The profits gained by the Mokusei Gautama go to help the poor & needy. (most of the time, anyway.)
6)
Right action - to strive to be better people and fighters, even though the odds are stacked against us. Team members stick together.
7)
Right mindfulness - to defend oneself against the influence of evil. And recognise their own faults.
8)
Right concentration - to focus to become a better person through the purification of mind and soul. To train to be the noblest of warriors. To one day achieve Nirvana.
Okurina also adds in graffiti at the bottom of the sign which displays this:
9)
The Tea-fold path :
*Thou shalt drink tea, whether it be milky or plain, green or brown, hot or cold; for tea is glorious in its steamy goodness.
Logo/Identification:While Team members do not have to identify themselves, many choose to display golden 8-spoked wheels on their outfit.
Every member (or especially regular customer) is given a little coin with a 8-spoked wheel on it, and a little jade Budai ( ie fat buddha ) for good luck.
Events:There may be plans for small competitions to be held in the teahouse (eating contests, costume competitions, carnivals, tea making competitions etc).
The team, once established, intends to take part in duels (inc group duels)- but the monks insist that these are to be held away from the teahouse itself.
Base of Operations:The Team meets in the Teahouse.
The tea house is three-story, quite small, standard Japanese style building, with a green roof. It opens to large sliding doors that are often left open in the summer and surrounded by a small rockery full of flowers. Inside there are a number of low tables and cushions and a small bar where one gets tea from (with a set of stools for those wishing to sit at the bar).
To the sides are a few other tables displaying their material wares for you to buy.
The two upper floors hold 6 rooms - 1 for the monk staff, 5 for lodgers to stay the night. If you do stay, meals are served in the tea room. The toilet is out back in the garden (lol).
The tea house serves tea and light meals.
TEAHOUSE SERVICES ~ FOR ALL DUELLERS!The Teahouse acts as a sanctuary or recreational facility for anyone passing through. The monks themselves also offer healing and tea services.
{Note: for any of these services you can draw a comic/splash page if you like, or we can - just a bit of fun ^_~}
*Tea serving:
Simply pop into the Teahouse and relax while you buy some of our excellent beveridges and food.
*Rooms/Inn
The Tea House has 5 double-bed rooms for lodgers, shoudl your SDL fighter want to have a rest ^_^
* Healing/ medical assistance:
The Monks are ready and willing to help with medicine, and a few are quite trained in as healers. Have you been injured in a recent battle? The Mokusei Gautama will take care of you
**Battle assistance:
Teh mokusei gautama teammembers swear to do good and help others. If you have an SDL duel coming up and want some team buddies - you're welcome to ask for teh aid of the teammambers.
How?:
Send the relevent team members you wish to draw [team up with] in your SDL duel a pm to let them know, then use their character (& their abilities) to help yours out.
[of course, make sure this is allowed in the rules of your duel!] [Your character has to be good- it's unlikely they'll help an evil character]
**Battle Background:
The Tea house is there for you to use in yoru SDL duels if you like- but the monks dislike fighting in it, so be prepared for their protests!
